Friends of Braybrook School Association
FOBSA plays an important role in helping to raise extra funds for the school, by running events for children & families throughout the year. This includes events such as the annual Christmas and Summer Fayres, children's disco & film nights, cake stalls, raffles and coffee morning events, which bring together both our families and the wider community.
The money raised is used to purchase resources which benefit ALL children in school and which are not usually catered for within the school budget.
During the last year we have purchased:
* New equipment for the Food Technology Room (which is in use every day) including a new oven, microwave, electronic and conventional scales and a large variety of utensils. (approx. £1500)
* Equipment for classes, including 4 visualisers (£800), boxed sets of coloured crayons, games and toys to improve provision for wet and indoor playtimes. (approx. £30 per class)
* Class gifts and games from ‘Santa’. (£20-30 per class)
* New lockers for KS1. (approx. £2000)
All parents & staff have the right to attend meetings associated with FOBSA; to be involved in discussions about fundraising & the spending of funds and to support in the organisation and running of events.
FOBSA meets once every half-term, usually before school ends. Currently there are only 4-5 parents / carers who regularly support the school by attending meetings and helping at events. As we have 266 children on role, it would be great to have significantly more parents involved!
If you are interested in coming on board and bringing new ideas to our committee, please don't hesitate in making contact with us. Why not check out the date for the next meeting on our school calendar? We would love to see you there!
