Year 4 travel back in time at Burghley House
This week, Year 4 pupils enjoyed a fun and fascinating trip to Burghley House as part of their Tudor history topic.

This week's most memorable moment was a truly special visit from the Britten Sinfonia Orchestra who brought their musical story "Geoffrey Gets the Jitters" to life for our children from Reception to Year 3. The performance captivated the children as they were introduced to a wonderful range instruments. They sang along enthusiastically and joined him with actions and dancing. It was a joy to see their faces light up and we're so pleased to have been able to offer such a magical experience.
Children in Years 1 to 4 had a great experience this week during our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) workshops. Visitor brought a range of resources for the pupils to use in a number of creative ways. The highlights included creating human pianos using “Makey Makey” boards—combining science, computing, and music in the most imaginative way, and learning to programme music on the laptops. It was a great experience for the pupils and hopefully it inspires them into more STEAM activities.
Thanks to all the hard work from the PTA and all your generous donations at Christmas fairs, events and fundraisers (including discos and movie nights), we have received a delivery of a class set of brand-new iPads, ready for the children to start using. After saving up over the past year, we are really excited to be able to use these with whole classes, bringing modern technology into our lessons.
We really value to use of technology at Braybrook, from using SeeSaw for recording work and inspiring learning, to making the most of apps such as Nearpod for instant feedback and pariticipation during lessons, and enabling each child to have access to their own iPad will really enhance learning.
If you are interested in becoming part of the PTA, whether that's being part of the team organising events, or you can spare an hour or two to help run a stall at an event, we would be delighted to have you on board. Please pop into the school office to find out more.
Thank you
