Braybrook Primary Academy

Reach for the stars!

passport to the world

As the Headteacher of Braybrook Primary Academy, I am incredibly proud of our school community, of our children and of the richness and diversity of our ‘Braybrook Family’, which make our school such an incredibly special place to be. Living and working in a country, a city and a school which is so culturally diverse is a pleasure and a privilege. It makes for an exciting and interesting world, and is, therefore, a strength which I believe should be both recognised and celebrated for all that it brings to us as individuals and as a school.

This year, as we continue to work to develop our curriculum and learning opportunities for the children of Braybrook, and to celebrate the cultures and backgrounds of the 21 other language groups within our school, we have continued to enjoy our half-termly experience called our

‘Passport to the World’.

Through this project, every child across the school has the opportunity to experience a day in the life of one country each half-term, learning about the culture, language and heritage of other children within our school and of other countries in the world.

Through stories, songs, dances, key factual information, food tasting and a host of other learning experiences, this year our children will travel the world, along with their ‘Braybrook Family’, one country at a time. They work alongside other children from their ‘House’ groups, in KS1 or KS2, fostering a real ‘family feeling’ whilst having fun through learning, before sharing their experiences in an end of day celebration assembly.
